Students are assessed multiple times throughout the school day both formally and informally.  Concluding a lesson, students will be given an activity to work on or an exit ticket to demonstrate their abilities on the content they learned.  Students will also be required to complete a variety of writing pieces and homework/independent work this year.  Progress reports will be sent home the fifth week of each marking period, and report cards the tenth week.  There will also be several opportunities for parent/teacher conferences this year.  More information about conferences can be found in the SBCS Parent/Student Handbook.

       Homework/Independent Work

Homework/independent work is assigned for subjects at each teacher’s discretion.  It is the expectation that when this work is given, it will be completed.  If a student does not complete an assignment, it will be noted in my electronic grade book as a “0”.  Students are also responsible for finishing work at home that was not completed during class time and making up missing classwork due to an absence.  Late homework will not be accepted unless a student was absent on the date the homework assignment was given or was due.
