The South Buffalo Charter School Girls softball Team opened its season with a win at home against EVCS-Hertel on Tuesday May 12th.  This is the inaugural season for the Girls Softball Charter League which consist of 4 teams SBCS, EVCS-Hertel, EVCS-Days Park, and Enterprise Charter School. The teams will play 10 games this season and all games will be held at South Buffalo Charter School's softball field. The Lady Jags are coached by Mrs. Mercedes Weaver, Mr. Andrew Anabel, and Mr. Jeremy Buczek.  Be sure to check our Lady Jags game schedule on the SBCS Calendar. 

On Friday 5/22 SBCS students had the opportunity to celebrate different cultures, learn something new, and appreciate the traditions and talents that make our community unique through the students IDEA committee. IDEA stands for Inclusion, Dignity,  Equity and Access. 

All students K-8 were invited to celebrate culture through creativity, passion, music, and art. Students had the opportunity to watch the talents of our very own Mr. Anable and Mr. Fletcher sing some Irish Folk songs, Mr. Huff talked about the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Abby Holms, a singer from NY Film Academy sang an array of music for them, Master Khechens Tae Kwon Doe school gave a demonstration, and the TMT Lion dance team did a traditional Lion dance for us. 

Students were encouraged to participate in the sing-alongs and interact with the TMT team as they walked through the crowds.
