Our mission is to create an equitable and safe space to prevent discrimination and celebrate differences in students and staff. To establish an environment where everyone feels welcome, making SBCS a place where students want to come. And to help prepare the next generation to lead their community with an open mind and loud spirit.
Our students and staff are proud of the work that the IDEA (Inclusion, Dignity, Equity, Access) Committee in our building. These are students who are choosing to be role models to their peers to celebrate the student body of SBCS.
-2024/2025: Established in grades 5-8.
-Welcomed the entire school to celebrate NYS newest holiday, Lunar New Year! All students experienced a performance by a local group who shared their celebratory customs. Middle school was so interested in this celebration that the Student Counsel themed their winter dance "Winter New Year" for more celebrations!
-Celebrated our first Cultural Day where students were able to try traditional foods from local bakeries including stollen, Nutella crepes, baklava, pita, pizzells, and waffle crisps. We were even able to have local Irish dancers come in to show their skills!
