    Questions and Answers

    Question:
    1. I spoke with our excavator today for a quote who performed the site work there on the original build. He stated that there are “Brownfield considerations” for this project as there was on the original build. I would like to know what considerations are mandatory for the spoils and the trenching specifications.
    2. Is open trenching allowed across any surfaces or is horizontal boring preferred?
    3. Does the school want protective bollards installed in front of the chargers and bases?
    4. The specs state that the charging stations are to have two type 1 charging plugs on them. Just to confirm this is the J1772 standard connector or do you want the new NACS (Tesla Connector) standard?
    5. Networking Requirements for chargers.
    6. Will there be a sub-meter installed on the circuits to the chargers for reference or billing?

    Answer:

    1. For brownfield - the DEC must be contacted and make a site visit no matter the depth of digging. They placed a 12' clean soil cap on the property and therefore the depth of digging will not pose a problem for this project.
    2. Open trenching is allowed.
    3. As of now protective bollards are not part of this RFP and are not necessary.
    4. We would want the new plugs standard with Tesla and the automobiles manufactured in 2023 and 2024.
    5. The chargers are able to utilize the school wireless wifi as it is sufficient in both locations.
    6. a sub meter is not required as we will utilize the information from the various apps utilized from the customers

    Question:

What size EV charger would you like?

    Level 2- 32 amps OR 80 amps?

    Answer:
We would be interested in 32 – 50-amp service for the EV charger.

    Question:

Can you also please send a copy of your utility bill? We use that info to find rebates.

    Answer:
A utility bill can be provided upon request.

    Question:

The maps show three charging stations and 3 stations, 6 ports in two different parking lots.

Do you want 6, dual port stations? Three stations in each lot. Total of 12 ports?
    Answer:
We would like three stations in each lot for a total of 12 ports.
