Dear Parents,
I grew up in South Buffalo, New York, and just returned to the city after four years out of state. I played football, soccer, and wrestled for a year in High School. From 2005-2010, I attended The State University of New York at Fredonia where I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Childhood Education with a Concentration in Math. From 2010-2012 I completed my Master’s degree at the same school in Literacy Education. I worked as a substitute teacher in Gowanda, New York for three years before moving to Cleveland. I have taught Math in multiple grade levels over the past 4 years in Cleveland before accepting a 7th grade Math position with South Buffalo Charter School. This is my 10th year as an educator, my 3rd for SBCS, and second school year teaching 4th grade here!
The 4th grade is an important step on your child’s path to greatness. In addition to academics, this is a time in your child’s life when their social and emotional personalities will be at a crossroads. I believe that in addition to academic excellence, manners and proper behavior should be demonstrated that is not only acceptable for boys and girls, but for young ladies and gentlemen as well. Through our combined effort and hard work, I believe that your children will take great strides towards becoming a 4th grade scholar and as a well-respected member of their communities.
I love to teach and I love to work with children. It is my belief that when working with children you need to have a sense of humor and keep an open mind. It is my intention to create a very warm and nurturing environment in which your children will feel comfortable and cared for in order to create the best possible learning environment. My ultimate goal as a teacher will be to not only ensure your child’s academic success, but to prepare them to excel in the world that awaits them beyond my classroom’s walls.
I look forward to working with you and your scholar on the path to success!

First off, I am hoping that this email finds everyone and their families happy, healthy, and safe! Teachers miss the students very much during times like this, and we know that everyone is dealing with their own home stresses. At this time though, SBCS has been putting thought into how we may continue with your student's education if the school closures continue. I would like to get as many students as possible signed in to "Google Classroom." This program should work on computers, androids, I-Phones, and I-Pads. This will allow me to post assignments and videos that the students will be able to see. They will then be allowed to post their homework for me to grade when it is completed. This is a set of directions explaining how to sign in to google classroom from different devices. At this time, I am only hoping to get as many students on google classroom and to accept my invite as possible. To get in, students will need a username, password, and class code. Our class code is yzgcoho
Username: Firstname.Lastname@southbuffalocs.orgPassword: !StudentIDNumberThe first part of every student password begins with !Student and the second part consists of the unique five digit student ID number found in PowerSchool (ex.!Student14015)I know that this is a lot of information, this is an unforeseen event in world history and so everyone is doing the best they can. If you need help getting on, or need the 5 digit code from POWERschool, let me know and I will email it to you.Mr. RokitkaClassroom Resources:
